Mission: walkON is a partnership committed to engaging the community in the creation of environments that support walking.
We value:
All forms of active transportation
Authentic collaboration
Diversity of our communities
Evidence informed practice
Fostering innovative leadership
The power of people to stimulate change
Structure:
At the heart of walkON is the Coordinating Committee, comprised of Heath Health Coordinators from each Central West Region. The Coordinating Committee is supported by a dynamic interdisciplinary Advisory Board of politicians, planners, public works, community services, transportation experts and community members. The Board provides technical expertise, input and guidance around different aspects of the resources offered by walkON. The Coordinating Committee will also work with a diverse Partnership Group of regional/provincial groups who share the same passion and commitment to walkable communities.
Local implementation of walkON varies in each community. For more information about local activities, contact the Coordinator in your region or review the list of Citizen Groups in Central West Ontario.
